International Film Club

InternationalFilmClub

The goal of the International Film Club is to promote International Student participation in Campus Life and to promote cultural fluency and awareness of international film culture and politics for the UC Irvine community.

Curated by Catherine Liu in coordination with collaborators, the UC Irvine International Film Club will meet once a month in the McCormick Screening Room, Humanities Gateway, to screen a series of classic and contemporary International Films. All screenings will be followed by question and answer periods and discussions led by a graduate student or Professor.

In 2022-2023, the International Film Club at UC Irvine features a selection of films curated by actor and comedian John Early (of the HBO series Search Party), in collaboration with Catherine Liu, Professor of Film and Media Studies. These films explore the themes of class as they have been represented by some of Hollywood's best known directors.

John Early and Catherine Liu will be discussing the films after each screening, and taking audience questions as well.

All films will be held at 7 p.m., in McCormick Screening Room 1070, Humanities Gateway
