Illuminations Colloquium C

Do you enjoy attending arts events and engaging in cultural discussion with your peers?

The Illuminations Colloquium (University Studies 43, Course Code 87668), a one unit pass/no pass course, invites you to explore and discuss arts and culture at UCI and in Orange County.  Attend five events and you will earn 1 unit!  As a student in the Illuminations Colloquium, you will attend at least five Illuminations-sponsored events and engage in brief reflective activities.  You’ll meet students from across campus and share a range of experiences, including concerts, dance and theater performances, panel discussions, exhibits, and films. You’ll also have a chance to help shape the Illuminations program by providing feedback on our programs and helping us build new audiences for the arts and culture across campus.

Events to choose from include:  a play at the South Coast Repertory Theater, “The Monster Builder,” Pacific Symphony and OC Philharmonic at Segerstrom Hall, Coup de Comedy and Shakespeare Shorts Festival and other selected events at the Irvine Barclay Theatre.

Please visit the  Illuminations web site for a sample of events that will be offered in 2017; more events will continue to be added during fall quarter! The course is led by Julia Lupton, Professor of English and the faculty director of Illuminations. The class time is Thursdays 6:00-7:20 pm, MPAA 320; most events will take place on Thursday evenings. Please review the course syllabus here:
