UCI Global Game Jam

Come join us for the 4th Annual UCI Global Game Jam! The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is the world's largest game jam event. It takes place around the world at hundreds of physical locations over the same weekend. The GGJ encourages people with all kinds of backgrounds to participate and contribute to the global spread of game development and creativity. The jam begins on Friday afternoon with an opening keynote that announces that year's theme. All sites worldwide are then challenged to make games based on that same theme, with games to be completed by Sunday afternoon. In January 2017, there were 700 locations in 95 countries that created over 7000 games in one weekend; at last year's UCI site there were 130 participants and 20 games created. The jam is known for helping foster new friendships and increase confidence and opportunities within the community. People are invited to explore new technology tools, try on new roles in development, and hone their skills by designing, creating and testing a new game in just 48 hours.
