Alive Inside: Screening and discussion of the award-winning documentary about music and Alzheimer’s
Join us for a screening of Alive Inside—winner of the 2014 Audience Award at the Sundance FiIm Festival—a documentary that demonstrates the power of music in the lives of older Americans with Alzheimer’s disease. The film depicts the power of human connection through music, and demonstrates the value of lives impaired by illness and age.
Following the screening, participants can join an interactive discussion lead by Dr. Kerry Burnight, UCI Professor of Geriatric Medicine and founder and CEO of Ageless Alliance: United Against Elder Abuse. Reaching out to the UC Irvine campus and community at large, Ageless Alliance invites students and other attendees to join the conversation regarding the social justice and the care and rights of our aging citizens.
Ageless Alliance: United Against Elder Abuse is a nationwide non-profit organization that actively elevates age-related issues, such as aging with dignity and elder abuse, to the forefront of our nation’s consciousness. Founded on the essential tenets of awareness, advocacy, and action, Ageless Alliance strives for collective action for the support of aging in American society.
